Julia & Jamil’s Wedding | WellWed & Style Me Pretty
The love story of Julia and Jamil began in Cape Cod at a two-day charity bike ride. At a water stop on day one, Julia’s teammates noticed Jamil and recognized him from business school. On the second day of the ride, Jamil stopped to help another one of Julia’s teammates who had gotten into a bad bike accident. To thank him, they invited Jamil out for celebratory team drinks a few nights after the ride. Julia and Jamil hit it off and the rest is history!
To capture their love story, Julia and Jamil wanted to incorporate bicycles into their stationery suite. And to quote Julia “I don’t want something traditional and stuffy.” Done and done! Together, we worked with Jamil’s sister, Gail, to bring custom illustrations to the invitation. I designed a trifold card, that when unfolded, shows them riding separately and then together on a tandem bike as they bike to their nuptials. In the background is a cottage and Big Ben, a nod to where they met and Jamil’s home country.
The bicycle theme continued to their wedding day where the tables were named after various bicycle brands and a bicycle bell favor was set at each place setting. The menus were inspired by the invitations and featured more of Gail’s custom illustrations.
Thank you to WellWed and Style Me Pretty for the features!
